Installation
There is little doubt that a timber floor will add character and value to a home.
The choices these days are endless. There is beautiful parquetry in all the patterns and species imaginable. There are endless options in engineered floors including raw Oak floors, to limed and stained Oak, and all hardwoods in various sizes. Of course there is the traditional strip timber flooring. These are now available from 50mm wide boards to over 200mm and all manifesting the best Australia has to offer in colour and grain.

The choice isn’t easy. We always encourage our clients to go with their gut instinct. What our clients first love is, is usually what they stay with.

The perfect floor
The choice isn’t easy. We encourage our clients to go with their gut instinct.
What our clients first love is, is usually what they stay with. But you want be sure that the floor you pick will stay in your home for decades to come. That is where a good installer is needed. One with insight, who can foresee any possible issues, and overcome them. One who can guarantee the end result. It is also helpful if your installer is also the one that will sand and polish it for you and present the finished product to you. We work along side Timber Suppliers such as NHS, Marshals Timber, Hudsons Glendale and Havwoods Newcastle and many more.

We recommend and use the best adhesives on the market. These include Bostik Ultraset and Soudal. We follow the guidelines as provided by Atfa ( Australian Timber Flooring Association. )

Floor Sanding
The better the machinery, the better the job
There is none better than the Herman Frank 10″ Belt Sander. It seems effortless and provides an even finished surface. The Alto Seyer 7R Floor Edger combines with the Herman Frank to finish the perimeter off beautifully. Then combining these machines with the Polyvac High Speed Burnisher and you have a brilliant result.

Preparation:
Like all good results, they start with planning and preparation.
Silicone or silicone based products as well as grease that comes in contact with the floor can cause rejection of the coating. So the electrical work, plumbing and glazing should be completed before work on the floor can be started.
In the case of staining or liming floors, leave the final coat on the skirting board until last. Install the carpet after the final coat gets on the floor. All furniture should be removed.

Finish coating
Finishes we use
It is your choice as to the finish you want on your floor. We can assist you with your decision by giving you all the details on each product.

It is your choice as to the finish you want on your floor. We can assist you with your decision by giving you all the details on each product. Over time, we have used most brands on the market, and while we do recommend certain finishes, we are flexible enough to use any that you prefer.
STAINING & LIMING
Dare to be different, whether you are looking for an aged look or something more modern, staining or liming your floor can achieve your goal. Do you have Cypress pine floors, but would rather Jarrah, or Bloodnut or an Oak floor? The word is stain!
We apply the stain/lime directly to the floorboards as this gives you a maximum result. It is not easy. It is time consuming and painstaking, but the result is amazing.
